RSD Course Overview

The Regenerative Systems Design Course (RSD Course) is unique in its scope. The reason for this is simple. Anyone that wishes to participate in the greatest task of our time — the regeneration of Earth’s ecosystems while simultaneously uplifting humanity — needs to have broad knowledge base and also possess a comprehensive understanding of the principles of Regenerative Systems Design.

Importantly, the multidisciplinary RSD Course enables people of all ages and cultural backgrounds to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to design a thriving regenerative society on a local, bioregional and global scale.

Furthermore, the multi-lingual RSD Course and the third party courses cater for many levels of interest, education, cultural background, etc. from home gardeners to off-grid homesteaders to farmers and businesses to regenerative development consultants and community leaders.

For example, Level 1 of the Regenerative Systems Design Course is suitable to both novice and well educated students. At the other end of the scale, learners that have completed a Master Holistic Design Certificate would have the knowledge and practical experience to design the regenerative development of their bioregion — and they would also qualify to study towards a Masters, Doctorate or PhD.

Some of the third-party elective / external courses offer professional qualifications in specific fields. Good examples are the Dr Elaine Ingham’s Soil Food Web Consultant Course, and Permaculture Institute’s Permaculture Design Course. There will also be many short courses — available free or at a reduced price.

The target market of the RSD Course is 1 visionary within every 1,000 people on Earth. These are the 8 million people that are willing and able to lead RSD projects while at the same time educating their community. While only 1 million may complete the graduate / post graduate levels at least 7 million should be able to complete one of the certificate courses.

RSD Course Structure

The Regenerative Systems Design Course is in the process of being developed. There are 48 qualifications. Each qualification has many tracks. The 16 core tracks each have 7 levels — in other words each track has 7 modules. Modules are also part of many threads (categories) e.g. composting, rocket stoves, biochar, etc.

The Regenerative Systems Design Course is a blend of online content that is provided by international experts — course content, additional reading & videos, online tutoring — and in-person practicals where participants apply what they have learnt into a Rescue Earth project of their choice. The many can be studied as stand alone courses.

Even though they have been designed to be studied together, Core Tracks and third-party courses can be studied on their own. For example someone may decide to study Regenerative Food Production & Processing from Level 1 to 7 without studying any other tracks.

RSD Course Versions

The pre-alpha version of a lesson is one that has not been peer reviewed yet — however, don’t worry, pre-alpha is good enough to be live! The alpha version is an early version of a peer reviewed lesson that is part of a dedicated evaluation process. The beta version includes almost all of the final content, videos, etc. yet it may still need to be tweaked somewhat.

The reason for making the pre-alpha version live is that we are actively engaging with our ‘early adopter’ crowdfunding students and contributors so that we can build the best course possible. The completed alpha versions of the entire course will be live from the 1st March 2024.

The beta versions will hopefully be released by 1st August 2024. The ‘completed & refined’ release of the RSD Course (English) should be available at the end of 2024. The course will then be translated into other languages — around 10 languages at first, and then more according to demand.
